My name is Brandon Mazy. I graduated High School from Brownwood, Texas in May 1989. When I was a child I always had a burning desire to pursue a career in graphic design. So after a couple of years researching and a trip to California to meet a number of the Disney animators. I began my pursuit of locating my niche in the media industry. In April of 1994 I was enrolled at the Art Institute of Dallas, graduated in September 1996 with a 3.85 GPA. Before graduation, I was employed at Cyberview Digital Media, by a media connoisseur, Gregg Poe. This began my journey into the media industry.

Whether, this be a story or a cover letter I'm not sure, but it will give you more than ample information about my previous or current work history.

For the last 10 years, I've been creating CD-ROM and web based media solutions either independently or with a creative team. I have played a key role in many areas of development from

  • programming (Html, Lingo, ASP, Action Scripting)
  • graphic design
  • video production (post/pre production)
  • special effects
  • video editing (linear , non-linear)
  • 2D/3D animations
  • print collateral
  • liner and nonlinear animations
  • marketing strategy
  • project deadlines

for companies such as Texas Instruments, HP, Ericsson, IBM, Sabre, American Airlines, Flight Safety ISD, just to name a few. With each client, I have had the opportunity to work with one on one to determine: estimated cost(s), project projection, delivery timelines, RND for the clients industry to market effectively, consulting, implement standards tailored for their solution. With all of these clients I worked to incorporate a flavor and functionality of there own, some of the projects ranged from Aviation (CBT) training solutions to high end multimedia applications with dynamically driven content, for either CD-ROM and/or internet delivery. I've played a key role in developing applications that required dynamic and/or static data, depending on the projects focus and architecture using Application such as: Photoshop, ImageReady, Flash, Director, Dreamweaver, 3D Studio Max, After Effects, Illustrator, AutoCAD and many others. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to progress into more of a director type roll for mentoring and scooping projects and setting standards and procedures as well as delegating job duties to fellow associates and being a key player in the hiring process of new employees.

I strive to say ahead of technology to be the most valuable asset I can for the company and myself. I have extensive experience with interface/graphic design, technical schematics, 3D and 2D animations, corporate branding co-branding, onsite structure, and implementation for standards and processes, researching/implementing new technologies.

OBJECTIVE:
To dive farther into the development side of the creation process. I have had the opportunity to learn and implement:

ASP Technology
  • secure pages
  • add/edit/delete tables from a access database (server-side)
  • pull dynamic content and trim content lines
  • login/logout with multiple username/password(s)
  • secure direct requests
  • random image display
  • if -- then statements
  • object oriented

I'm excited about really getting my hands dirty with ASP.NET, PHP, COLD FUSION, and intragrating it with a sequel database. I've only used access up till this point. All the project(s) I've worked on relied on access technology, but I understand the scaleability and reliability of sequel and I feel it would be to my benefit to make the switch and be able to develop for both platforms.

I've have assumed the designer roll on all the e-commerce sites I've have the oppertunity to work on, but would love the chance to actually code and understand the functionality for a secure e-commerce site.

I'm looking for a company that has great growth ability, and stability. I consider myself to be a hard worker and loyal. I'm self-motivated and quick learner with little room for error. I have letters of recommendations from previous contract adventures as well as recommendations from previous employers.

Thank you for taking the time to read my cover letter. If you have any other questions or comments, please contact me.

Sincerely,
Brandon Mazy
